A 33-year-old Moroccan man who distributed fake football shirts to local markets has been arrested by the Guardia Civil in Benijófar.
The hawker was detained after Guardia agents tracked a shipment of the counterfeit sports gear from Alicante-Elche airport before he sold them onto market traders at Guardamar, Torrevieja, and Campoamor.
He was charged with possession 700 fake shirts, many of which featured leading Spanish clubs, as well as spreading the wings further to cover Bayern Munich and Manchester United. The market value of the fakes was said to be around 25,000 euro, and the vendor was bailed after a court appearance.
