More than 13 million international tourists have arrived in Spain during the first quarter of the year, a new record, according to Secretary of State for Tourism, Matilde Asián.
Asián made the announcement during a tourism and training conference in Benidorm, revealing that during the first three months of 2017 the average daily expenditure and per tourist also increased.
Spain is, as has, “aroused more interest ahead of countries like France, Italy, United States or Japan.”
The aim of both the Government and the sector has continued to be “increasing profitability” for which the importance of implementing quality standards has been enforced.
The Community of Madrid stood stands in first place in terms of daily expenditure, with 238 euro per tourist on average in March, 7.5 percent more than during the same period of 2016.
