Prison Call for Desperate and Hungry Couple
The prosecutor has asked the courts in Alicante to sentence a couple to eight months in prison, after they were caught having entered a closed and locked supermarket grounds in order to recover out of date food from the rubbish to eat.
The incident dates back to October, 2015, when the couple, along with a third person who is considered a minor, allegedly broke the lock on a gate in order to enter the area and obtain the food from the rubbish. In doing so, they caused 28 euro damages to the lock.
The supermarket is not filing any claim against the pair, either for the dame or for the food which they consider “waste” and “worthless”, but the prosecutor is keen to ensure a custodial sentence is passed down.
