Benidorm joins bathing ban in jellyfish scare
The beaches of Benidorm on the Costa Blanca are the latest to ban bathing over fears that the toxic Portuguese Man O War may attack.
Beaches along the coast have been flying red flags in order to offer some kind of protection from stings.
As previously reported, many ecologists have blamed over fishing in the area which has upset the delicate ecosystems of the Mediterranean.
Beach visitors are reminded that if a red flag is flying then bathing in the sea is prohibited. Caution should also be exercised on beaches where no flags or protection is evident.
