Truck Stop Robbers Arrested
In a joint operation between officers from the Guardia Civil and the National Police, working under the operational name of “TOLVAJ”, a criminal group dedicated to robbery in trucks parked in service areas and industrial estates of the A-2 motorway has been disbanded.
The area where the gang would operate was specifically in sections of the provinces of Madrid, Guadalajara, Soria and Zaragoza.
A total of 32 people have been arrested and up to 118 robberies have been attributed to the group, with an economic loss of around two million euro.
The operation began last September after the alarming increase in robberies on the highway. In just 20 days, between the months of July and August of last year, the criminal organisation came to commit seven robberies with force and two truck abductions in the province of Guadalajara, which increased in the following months.
