Traditional Fishing Tourism in Torrevieja

The town hall of Torrevieja has launched an initiative named Pescaturismo, which aims to offer tourists an insight into traditional fishing techniques that first saw the town become famous

The initiative allows for tourists to take to the sea on a night fishing boat, hopefully to catch red mullet, one of the most characteristic fish caught at night off the Torrevieja coast.

Fanny Serrano, the councillor for tourism, has said that the scheme will run until October, and offers tourists a chance to “sample our wealth and serve to give an insight into sustainability through traditional fishing techniques”.
