The network of state museums, managed by the Directorate General of Fine Arts, is of great variety and wealth and is distributed throughout the Spanish territory. The purpose of the alliance with Renfe is to favour their visit, communicating the different cities in which they are located and offering travellers special advantages, such as a 50% discount on the ticket price (on the general rate, at as of January 1, 2022).

This union between the network of state museums and the AVE and long-distance rail network offers the user an experience that highlights culture from the start of the journey in their city of origin, to the state museum of their choice. Users will be able to find all the information about the advantages and conditions of this agreement in the different communication supports of Renfe and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

In addition, Renfe hosts on its website a space dedicated exclusively to the network of state museums, with all the updated information on temporary museum exhibitions and the necessary details for users to organise their visit.

The museums that participate in this agreement are the National Archaeological Museum, Museum of America, Museum of Costume. Ethnological Heritage Research Centre, Cerralbo Museum, National Museum of Romanticism, Sorolla Museum, National Museum of Anthropology and National Museum of Decorative Arts of Madrid; El Greco Museum and Sephardic Museum of Toledo; National Museum of Ceramics and Sumptuary Arts ‘González Martí’ of Valencia; National Sculpture Museum and Casa de Cervantes Museum in Valladolid; National Museum and Research Centre of Altamira de Santander; National Museum of Underwater Archaeology. ARQVA of Cartagena and the National Museum of Roman Art of Mérida.
