Seat leads the Spanish market in 2021

The car company Seat remained the brand that sold the most passenger cars in Spain in 2021, with 70,523 vehicles, growing 2.6%, while its model, the Seat Arona, took first place in the list of more models. 

According to data from the associations of manufacturers (Anfac), dealers (Faconauto) and sellers (Ganvam), Peugeot was the second firm that registered the most units in Spain in 2021, with 67,266 cars, 2.4% more, followed by Toyota, which closes the ‘top 3’ with 62,329 cars, 8.2% more.

Volkswagen is also on the list of best-selling brands in Spain, which finished the year in fourth position with 61,724 units, 7.6% less, while behind are Hyundai, with 57,508 units (+ 26.7%); Kia, with 57,235 units (+ 20.2%); Renault, with 51,700 units (-7.9%); Citroën, with 47,072 units (+ 7.4%); Dacia, with 36,771 units (-6.7%), and BMW, with 35,193 units (-0.1%).

Only in the month of December, Peugeot was the best-selling brand in Spain, with 7,410 units, 10.6% less, while Hyundai was in second position, with 6,511 units (+ 12%), and Renault was the third , with 6,412 units (+ 8.1%).

For its part, Toyota was in fourth place, with 6,078 units (-4.6%), while Kia closed the ‘top 10’ in December, with 5,199 units (-3.2%); Seat, with 4,975 units (-24.7%); Dacia, with 4,839 units (-9.9%); Citroën, with 4,747 units (-12%); Volkswagen, with 4,618 units (-44.9%), and Mercedes-Benz, with 3,924 units (-41.9%).

Seat Arona, the best-selling model in 2021

In the section of best-selling models in Spain in 2021, the Seat Arona took first place in the national market. Thus, with 21,946 units, 42.83% more, the Arona was the most ‘popular’ car in the whole of last year.

The Hyundai Tucson was the second most registered vehicle in Spain, with 21,258 units (+ 66.78%), followed by the Dacia Sandero, with 20,419 units (-15.04%); the Peugeot 2008, with 19,426 units (+ 27.59%); Toyota Corolla, with 16,983 units (+ 9.72%); the Peugeot 3008, with 16,812 units (+ 14.73%); the Seat León, with 16,691 units (-29.22%); Volkswagen T-Roc, with 15,988 units (+ 23.19%); the Citroën C3, with 15,948 units (+ 23.17%), and the Fiat 500, with 15,941 units (+ 30.78%).

In December, the Hyundai Tucson was the best-selling car in Spain, with 2,423 units, 9.64% more, ranking ahead of the Peugeot 2008, with 2,263 units (-5.31%); the Dacia Duster, with 2,174 units (+ 42.74%); the Dacia Sandero, with 2,167 units (-37.53%); Citroën C4, with 2,111 units (+ 71.35%); the Peugeot 3008, with 2,059 units (+ 10.7%); the Seat Arona, with 1,893 units (+ 25.36%); the Peugeot 208, with 1,817 units (+ 19.3%); the Renault Clio, with 1,806 units (+ 1.06%), and the Renault Arkana, with 1,774 units.
