The extraordinary plenary session of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS) has approved in an increase to the capacity limits for the sports competitions of the National Professional Football League and the League of the Association of Basketball Clubs ( ACB), as well as other massive sporting events.
In this way, it goes from a maximum capacity of up to 75% to 85% for events in open venues and the maximum capacity of up to 50% for events in closed venues becomes 75%, respecting the non-pharmacological measures of protection against COVID-19.
On the other hand, the plenary session of the CISNS has approved the modulation of the use of masks in outdoor spaces. Minister Darias will take the Royal Decree tomorrow to the Council of Ministers by which masks in outdoor spaces will no longer be mandatory, something that will be effective next Thursday after the publication of the measure in the Official State Gazette. In addition, the CISNS has approved recommending the use of it when crowds occur.
Advances in the European Commission
In the session, the Minister of Health shared with the CISNS the important progress made by Spain in regulatory matters regarding the COVID Digital Certificate within the European Commission.
In this regard, it should be noted that a proposal to amend Regulation (EU) 2021/953 has been published with the aim, among others, that EU digital COVID Certificates (CCDs) can be issued to people who participate in clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccines (as is the case of the Spanish Hipra vaccine) and that said certificates can be accepted by other Member States so as not to apply restrictions to free circulation.
Along these lines, the Ministry of Health has proposed the issuance of CCD-EUs for recovery based on antigen tests and not only on PCR tests as it has been until now. These advances must follow their normative course to be consolidated.
