Equality compiles more than 1,200 services in a map of resources for LGTBI people

This is the first time in Spain that it has compiled the different types of resources offered by more than 220 LGTBI associations, as well as public administrations from various autonomous communities and municipalities.

The associative and welfare fabric that the LGTBI community has is very irregular, dispersed and not always easily located. The period of confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated how fundamental many of these resources are for the lives of LGTBI people. For this reason, the General Directorate of Sexual Diversity and LGTBI Rights has compiled them on an interactive map.

This is the first time in Spain that a compilation of the different types of resources offered by more than 220 LGTBI associations, as well as public administrations from various autonomous communities and municipalities, has been carried out. For the collection of this information, they have had the collaboration of both the ministries responsible for equality in the different communities and with the associative fabric.

The crisis of the war in Ukraine has once again put on the table the urgency of providing resources to a population in a situation of extreme need, such as the people who come to Spain fleeing the conflict and the LGTBI people who may be affected by the economic consequences of it.

On the map you will find all kinds of assistance, socialisation, educational, sexual health, attention to victims of hate crimes, socio-labour insertion programs for trans people, psychological, legal or social care advice.

This map also attempts to find out about the complex distribution of care that exists in Spain and to bring resources closer to the populations that need it most, such as the elderly, young people, people from rural areas, trans people or victims of hate crimes. We must not forget that hate crimes based on sexual orientation or gender identity are the third cause of this type of crime in Spain.
