FREE Travel on Valencia Metros for World Car Free Day 2022
The Valencian regional government has announced that as part of their celebrations of World Car Free Day on Thursday 22 September, there will be free access throughout the day to the Metrovalencia, TRAM d’Alacant, TRAM Castelló and MetroBus services (Metropolitan buses of Valencia).
This initiative is part of the different activities scheduled by the Generalitat for the celebration of the European Mobility Week, to promote more sustainable habits in society as a whole and “remember that public transport is a safe means”.
On the occasion of World Car Free Day and to facilitate access to the underground stations, the Metrovalencia and TRAM d’Alacant validation lines will be open from the start of the service to the end of it.
In Metrovalencia, the validators will be out of service, while the automatic ticket machines will be active and passengers will be able to purchase all valid tickets.
In Alicante, all the validators, both those on board the units and those at the stations, will be out of service. The automatic vending machines will indicate the free service and the users will be able to acquire the valid tickets.
Access to the Castelló TRAM and MetroBus buses will not require a transport ticket either.
