Covid Infections in Spain Double in a Week
The number of confirmed Covid infections in Spain increased by 20,652 in the latest update, around double the increase of 10,843 a week ago. The week previous, the increase was by 8,114. The total of confirmed cases in Spain now stands at 13,462,593, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health published on Friday 14 October 2022.

It is worth noting however that mass testing no longer takes place, and this figure is only derived from the testing of a relatively small portion of the population.
The number of deaths from coronavirus also increased by 173 in a week, down on the 206 reported last week, but considerably higher than the 83 recorded the week before. The total number of people who had died from Covid in Spain now stands at 114,641.
