The national average value of accumulated rainfall from the beginning of the hydrological year (October 1, 2022) to March 28, 2023 is estimated at 331 l/m 2, which represents around 17% less than the normal value corresponding to said period (397 l/m2).

The information was published this week by the state meteorological service, Aemet, who point out that the accumulated amounts are below their normal values in the Cantabrian strip, except Galicia, a large part of the eastern half of the Peninsula together with the southern third and in the Canary Islands.

Normal values are exceeded in areas of the interior and western third of the Peninsula, except Andalusia, in the north of Huesca, Mallorca and Menorca.
