Sex, violence, and robbery in court in Valencia

The criminal courts in Valencia will hear evidence form today, Thursday, in a case of alleged sexual assault, in which the Prosecutor is asking for 7 years in prison for a man for sexually forcing a friend with whom he went out to dinner, along with another woman, in October 2021 in Valencia.

The events occurred at dawn when the victim began to feel unwell and the defendant offered to take her home, invited her to sleep, and during the night, the defendant entered her room and sexually assaulted her.

On the same day, the third section will host the trial of a man accused of kicking his girlfriend’s father in the leg until he knocked him to the ground and broke his knee in April 2019.

The defendant and his partner went to the victim’s house, in a municipality in the Ribera region, to pick up some things from her and there, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant began to rebuke his partner’s father and kick him on the leg until he was knocked down.

The man broke his knee, among other injuries, which took him 600 days to heal, and the Public Prosecutor is asking the attacker for a year and a half in prison for a crime of injury.

Finally, also on Thursday, the fourth section hosts the trial in which they request five and three years in prison for each of the two men whom the Prosecutor’s Office accuses of robbing a supermarket in Paterna and fleeing the assault in a car from a VTC company that they had hired in March 2022.

According to the account of the Public Ministry, one of the men entered the establishment and the other stayed outside to watch and request the vehicle.

The man inside threatened a cashier with a knife and stole 167 euro from the cash till and, after the robbery, both got into the car and fled, although they were intercepted a few minutes later by the Police; the Prosecutor’s Office considers them perpetrators of a crime of robbery with intimidation and appreciates the aggravating factor of recidivism for one of them and multiple recidivism for the other.
