The Provincial Court of A Coruña will start to hear evidence from today, Tuesday, in a trial for theft and fraud, crimes for which the Prosecutor’s Office requests for the defendant´s sentences add up to three years and six months in prison.
According to the prosecutor, the defendant, between August 2016 and June 2017, provided services as a domestic worker at the home of a 95-year-old woman, located in Ferrol.
At that stage, “taking advantage of the freedom of movement that the performance of her work and with the purpose of obtaining an immediate and illicit patrimonial benefit, she appropriated 500 euro in cash and various jewels, all of them gold” that she sold.
After ceasing as a domestic employee, in July 2017 and without the consent of the injured party but using her personal and bank details, she contracted a landline telephone and internet combo, as well as four mobile telephone lines.
