The First Section of the Provincial Court of Valencia is hearing evidence from today, Tuesday, against three men accused of kidnapping a fourth, a school friend of one of the defendants, to rob him, beat him and threaten him with death if he did not give them an economic amount of 50,000 euro.
According to sources from the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV), the events began on June 10, 2021 when one of the defendants, who acted as a hook to deceive the injured party, stayed with him in a field located in the town of El Perellonet, Valencia.
According to the same information, at that moment, the other two defendants covered with hoods appeared and, after threatening the victim, beat him, tied him up, covered his head, and forced him into the boot of a car.
Subsequently, says the public prosecutor’s office, they took him to a country house where they beat him with a baseball bat and an electric gun and threatened to kill him if he did not give them 50,000 euro. Shortly after, they put him back in the boot of the car and took him to the wasteland where the drama began to release him.
In the days that followed, the defendants – who posed as an international criminal organisation – called the victim on several occasions to threaten him with death and remind him that he had to deliver the money they had agreed upon in two weeks or they would retaliate against his family. Finally, on June 24, 2021, they made an appointment in Sueca, in which the victim had to give them a backpack with the money.
The defendants were arrested after one of them collected the money that the injured party had left next to a bin, following the instructions of the defendants. The Prosecutor’s Office asks for each of the three thirteen and a half years in prison for the crimes of illegal detention, robbery with violence, injuries and extortion.
