Carolina Gracia Collects the 11 Blue Flags Awarded to the Beaches of Orihuela
The Mayor of Orihuela, Carolina Gracia, has collected the 11 blue flags that certify the quality of the beaches of the Orihuela municipality, and the 2023 Special Mention to the Orihuela City Council in terms of Information and Environmental Education, in the act held at Casa Villagadea de Altea (Alicante) and chaired by Isaura Navarro Casillas, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition.
The Blue Flag is an international distinction awarded annually by the European Foundation for Environmental Education. These awards recognise the high quality of the water and services on the beaches.
Orihuela once again validates its 11 blue flags “an award that recognises the quality of the water and our beaches. Likewise, we have received the 2023 Special Mention in terms of Environmental Information and Education. A recognition that shows the good work that has been done by the Department of Beaches, Infrastructures and Road Cleaning, among others so that our beaches are each year the most awarded in the Valencian Community and the second in Spain”, explained the mayor of Orihuela.
The Blue Flag certified beaches for the 2023 summer season are Aguamarina, Barranco Rubio, La Caleta, Cala Capitán, Cala Cerrada, Cala Estaca, Cala Mosca, La Glea, Cala Bosque, Mil Palmeras and Punta Prima. The Dehesa de Campoamor Yacht Club has also been recognised.
