The sixth section of the Provincial Court of A Coruña, based in Santiago, will begin to hear evidence from today, Thursday, in the case of the owner of a hostess club, who is being judged for having the most of its workers without registering them with Social Security.
In November 2019, during an inspection of the nightclub that the defendant owns in the town of Padrón, the agents located 11 women who carried out “the work activity of waitresses and/or provision of services of a sexual nature without an employment contract or being registered with Social Security.
According to the indictment of the Public Ministry, at the time of the inspection it was found that, of the 21 workers at the establishment, only five had a contract and were registered. The prosecutor considers these facts constituting a crime against the rights of workers, for which he asks for two years in prison and a fine of 4,320 euro for the defendant.
