The fifth section of the Provincial Court of Valencia will hear evidence from today, Tuesday, against a man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against fundamental rights and public liberties (hate crime) for directing homophobic insults at another man, for whom the Prosecutor’s Office initially requests two years in prison.
The events occurred on February 11, 2020, in the city of Valencia, when the car the defendant was driving got too close to the motorcycle the victim was riding and the latter reproached him, reports the Superior Court of Justice of the Community Valencian (TSJCV).
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant hurled insults at the motorcycle driver, language deemed homophobic and offensive, when verifying that he was wearing painted nails and an LGTBI collective bracelet.
The third section also judges a property manager as of Tuesday for keeping close to 54,600 euro from a community of owners that managed Playa de Gandia. The Prosecutor’s Office accuses him of the continued crimes of misappropriation and falsehood and requests for him a sentence of five years in prison.
