The Provincial Court of Pontevedra will host the trial against a man accused of raping a woman from today, Thursday, for whom the Prosecutor is asking for 10 years in prison.
The facts that are being judged date back to the year 2020 and the Prosecutor’s Office has requested that it be held behind closed doors to “avoid harming the honour of the victim.”
In addition to the prison sentence, the Public Prosecutor claims that the defendant cannot approach the victim at a distance of less than 250 metres, neither herself or her home, or communicate with her by any means for 15 years. In addition, he must participate in a sex education program. At the same time, according to the accusation document, the defendant must indemnify the victim in 20,000 euro for the moral damages caused.
