The Parque de las Naciones in Torrevieja will be the scene of the program of events that will take place from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 August, on the occasion of the festivities in honour of San Emigdio, co-patron of Torrevieja and protector against earthquakes.

The Department of Festivals of Torrevieja Council has organised a program that will begin on August 3 with the inauguration of the “Barraca Popular” at 9:00 p.m., followed by a raffle of gifts and the musical performance of an orchestra.

On Friday, August 4, the events will also start at 9:00 p.m., with a raffle of gifts and a musical performance by a DJ, while on Saturday, August 5, at 7:00 p.m., there will be an event with children’s entertainment and a free snack will be offered to all children attending. Then, at 9:00 p.m., there will be a new raffle for gifts and a musical performance starting at 10:30 p.m.

On Sunday, August 6, at 8:00 p.m., in the Hermitage of San Emigdio, located inside the Parque de las Naciones and also around it, a Eucharist will be officiated in honour of the co-patron of Torrevieja, followed by a solemn procession with the image of the saint accompanied by the band of the Unión Musical Torrevejense (UMT). The tour will run through calles San Policarpo, Bilbao, Santísima Trinidad, Los Molinos, Plaza del Calvario, San Emigdio, José Hurtado Romero “El Felisia” and, again, to San Policarpo to return to the Hermitage of Parque de las Nations. After the procession, a fireworks display will be set off with which these popular festivities will end.
