The national average value of accumulated rainfall from the beginning of the hydrological year (October 1, 2022) until August 15 is estimated at 485 l/m 2 (around 17% less than the normal value corresponding to said period of 581 l/m 2).
This is according to the latest figures released this week by the State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, who point out once again that the accumulated quantities are below their normal values in a large part of the Peninsula and archipelagos, highlighting the situation in the northeast and southwest quadrants of the peninsula, areas of the Cantabrian coast, points in Cuenca and inland Valencia, and on the eastern islands of Canary Islands, where 75% of that value is not reached.
On the other hand, normal values are exceeded in Galicia, western Castilla y León, Cáceres, the Almería coast, areas of Alicante, Murcia, Teruel, Mallorca, Menorca, Tenerife and areas between Madrid, Toledo and Cuenca.
