Sporty retailer Decathlon has sold 90 stores in several European countries, including 30 in France, as well as in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany, according to French media.
The operation, which covers approximately 400,000 square metres of commercial space, has reached an estimated value of 600 million euro. Despite this sale, Decathlon maintains ownership of around 40% of its stores in France.
The company, which is a subsidiary of the French group Mulliez, has made this sale to American investor Realty Income, with the advice of Eversheds Sutherland, a firm specialising in property management.
Decathlon representatives have assured that this transaction is a continuation of similar operations carried out in the past and have emphasised that it will have no impact on the daily activity of the stores involved. Decathlon has a global presence, operating in 72 countries with more than 1,750 stores and a workforce of more than 105,000 employees.
