Spanish News Headlines
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced at the weekend that the Council of Ministers will today approve the increase in the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (SMI) by 5% to 1.134 euro per month, an increase of just over 50 euro a month, in line with the agreement reached last January between the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy and the unions.
The Court of Pontevedra, at its headquarters in Vigo, will host the trial from today against two people accused of falsifying documents in an inheritance for whom they request a sentence of four years in prison. The Prosecutor’s Office document states that the accused’s brothers filed a lawsuit to claim payment of their inheritance from their mother’s will. Both defendants, husband and wife, guided by a “spirit of illicit enrichment” and previously agreed, developed a plan to respond to said procedure.
The Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands holds the pre-trial hearing today against a waiter for allegedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old minor whom he invited to enter the bar where he worked to take refuge from the rain. According to the prosecutor ‘s brief, the events occurred in a bar in Palma, where the accused, 58 years old, invited the minor to enter and, once inside, hugged her tightly to himself, kissing her on the neck, touching her intimately, and kissing her on the mouth.
The Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands holds the trial today against a diving instructor, accused of raping a young woman on a boat excursion in Cabrera. The Public Ministry asks for ten years in prison for him. According to the indictment, the events occurred in July 2020, when the victim and his family went on a boat excursion, contracted with the company dedicated to diving activities where the defendant worked.

Traffic and Travel
Road wise, there´s nothing significant planned but remember that if you are venturing into the mountain areas, which in some cases might be less than an hour from the sunny coast, snow chains should be a consideration to avoid getting stranded.
In the air, the military exercise continues over Spain, and a strike was called for Wednesday in Germany which might cause some problems.
