The Council of Ministers are set to approve a 2 billion euro boost to social housing today, increasing the available stock at affordable prices.
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced the plan on Saturday, resulting in criticism from the opposition as it was during the Galician election rounds.
This line of guarantees will be 2 billion euro, Sánchez said at an electoral event in the Mar de Vigo auditorium, attended by more than 1,500 people to support the socialist candidate for the Xunta de Galicia in the February 18 elections, José Ramón Gómez Besteiro.
Sánchez has defended this measure to help “the young people of our country” and also “families” who want to buy a home.
