The Guardia Civil has dismantled a clandestine laboratory hidden in an industrial warehouse in Manilva (Málaga) where cosmetic and food products derived from cannabis with high CBD content were produced and intended to be sold illegally.
Agents of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil in Algeciras learned of the existence of a warehouse in which illegal products derived from hemp could be manufactured.
Once the suspicions were confirmed, they carried out a joint inspection with Public Health agents of the Junta de Andalucía, verifying that inside the warehouse a laboratory had been installed for the treatment and manufacture of all types of products derived from cannabis and a warehouse full of products to sell.
In the warehouse, the Guardia Civils found four tons of cannabis seeds, several litres of hashish oil and kilos of marijuana buds, all of these products used as raw materials to be processed. In addition, a large number of products already prepared, labelled and ready for sale such as candies, infusions, oils, vape liquid and creams, all of them with high CBD content, have been seized.
After the inspection and analysis of the samples of each of the products found, it was confirmed that some of them also contained a high percentage of THC (active ingredient of the cannabis plant that produces psychoactive effects and whose presence in a higher concentration 0.2% in any substance is considered illegal). It was also confirmed that the person responsible for the facility did not have the legal requirements for the treatment, manufacturing and marketing of the products found there. For all these reasons, the report issued by the Public Health agents of the Junta de Andalucía concluded that there was a high health risk.
Due to these events, the Guardia Civil has arrested the person responsible for the laboratory and all the manufacturing processes for a crime of drug trafficking who, together with the proceedings carried out, was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority decreeing his imprisonment.
