Among the graffiti there were expressions such as “women in the kitchen” or “women to wash” and also humiliating phrases towards the LGTBIQ+ group directed at two teachers at the centre due to their sexual orientation and gender identity.

They are charged with the alleged crimes of robbery with force, promotion, and public incitement of hatred due to sexual orientation and gender identity, crimes of damage and a crime of theft.

The investigation began at the end of January when those responsible for the centre filed a complaint about the theft that had occurred in the centre, the damage they found and the graffiti inciting hate.

The agents verified that the expressions and graffiti were made with spray and on a mural that the students and teachers had made to celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

On the mural you could read messages such as “women in the kitchen,” “women in the kitchen,” among other offences. Likewise, there were also humiliating and offensive expressions towards the LGTBIQ+ group directed at two teachers at the centre due to their sexual orientation and gender identity.

Investigators also observed damage inside the institute’s facilities and confirmed the theft of a large amount of belongings from the sports hall.

It has been determined that the events have been occurring since November of last year, with attacks on the centre increasing in December and January.

The detainees entered the institute at night and on non-school days to carry out the graffiti and destruction.

The Guardia Civil has recovered all of the stolen objects, which were hidden in the homes of the alleged perpetrators.

The operation has been carried out by the investigation area of the Guardia Civil of Seseña (Toledo), with the collaboration of the Response Team to Hate Crimes (REDO) of the Toledo Command, within the framework of the Action Plan of the Guardia Civil against hate crimes and conduct that violates legal regulations on discrimination.
