Drug dealing pair on trial

The fifth section of the Provincial Court of Pontevedra, based in Vigo, will judge wo people from Vigo from today accused of a crime against public health for which it requests almost 15 years in prison.

As stated in the document from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, on December 9, 2022, one of the accused was near the home of the other accused when he was approached by members of the National Police, given the possibility that he was going to provide him with narcotics.

In the presence of the agents, the first of the accused threw the substance on the ground, which turned out to be a plastic bag containing 6,637 grams of cocaine valued at 577 euro. Furthermore, to avoid being arrested, he struggled with the agents, at whom he elbowed and even pushed one of them towards some stairs.

Next, the national police officers searched the defendant’s storage room, where they found numerous cocaine tablets valued at more than 200,000 euro, as well as cannabis resin valued at around 20,000 euro.

Likewise, the agents located more bags of cannabis and other substances such as THC, in addition to 65,690 euro distributed in bills of 500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 euro.

The Prosecutor’s Office brief indicates that the accused sold these substances to other people, including the other accused, who was seen by police officers giving another person a package in the Olívica city that contained 0.9 grams of cocaine.

Due to these facts, the Prosecutor’s Office requests nine years in prison for the first of the accused for a crime against public health; seven months in prison for the crime against public order; and three months’ fine for the minor crime of injuries. For the other accused, the Prosecutor’s Office attributes a crime against public health for which he requests five years in prison.
