Ritual child sex act defendant in court
The courts in Las Palmas will hear evidence from today against a man accused of forcing his partner’s son to perform fellatio on him in his home in Arucas, deceiving him that they were Santeria rituals, acts performed in order to increase closeness with spirits, from an African ritual developed in Cuba.
The Prosecutor’s Office requests a sentence of 12 years in prison for the defendant for an alleged continued crime of sexual assault of a minor under 16 years of age, in addition to compensation of 8,000 euro to his parents for moral damages.
The indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office describes that, in August 2017, the defendant “made the minor believe that he was performing a Santeria ritual, in order to satisfy his sexual desires and being fully aware of disturbing and violating his free development” and sexual identity, he lay down on a mattress and made the young man perform fellatio on him. Moments later he allegedly ceased his behaviour when he heard his partner entering the house.
“Likewise, during the afternoon of August 30, 2017, taking advantage of the fact that they were alone at home, the defendant, with the same excuse of performing a Santeria ritual, also made the minor perform fellatio on him, holding the head of the minor to tell him what he should do,” says the Prosecutor’s Office. The injured party, consequently, presents symptoms of emotional discomfort and physical complaints, according to the accusation.
“He appears emotionally affected, withdrawn, distrustful, relates in an introverted manner and highlights reactions of sadness and lack of emotional energy. We see a weak psychic imprint and psychological damage in the form of residual anxious-depressive symptoms, withdrawal, fear of the dark and staying alone, framed in a highly introverted personality,” the writing adds.
