Number of flight seats increase by 13 percent in March

The total number of seats planned on international flights to Spain for the month of March 2024 reaches 8.5 million, according to data released by Turespaña. Compared to the same month in 2023, when 7.5 million were offered, the year-on-year increase is 13.6%.

Comparing the forecasts for the number of seats in March 2024 with the data recorded on the equivalent date of 2023, the good performance of the main issuing markets towards Spain continues: United Kingdom (+7.2%), Germany (+17.3%) and Italy (+21.6%).

Also noteworthy are the intense increases in Poland, which rose by 83.8%, the Czech Republic, with an increase of 53.1%, and Austria, with more than 26.3% growth.

Additionally, markets such as Ireland, Colombia and Turkey also present significant increases of more than 10% for this month of March.

The Minister of Industry and Tourism Jordi Hereu, “these are data that confirm the good start of the year for the tourism sector, in line with the forecast of arrivals and spending that predicts a significant improvement in this first quarter compared to those already historic figures for 2023”.
