The Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands holds the pre-trial hearing today against a man accused of sexually assaulting his partner’s younger sister, taking advantage of the fact that they were on vacation on a boat.
According to the indictment, the events occurred in the summer of 2016, when the accused was on a boat vacation along the coast of Mallorca in the company of his partner and her family, including his girlfriend´s younger sister, who was 14 years old at the time.
The prosecutor maintains that the 42-year-old man, taking advantage of the proximity due to the small space where they were and the age difference, began to approach the minor to gain her trust and try to seduce her.
The first night they spent on the boat, after being alone on deck, the defendant touched her, leaving the victim paralysed and going to her cabin.
The next day, the accused took advantage of the fact that he had been alone with her again on the deck and acted in the same way, going so far as to force her into intimate sex acts, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
As a result of these events, the minor suffered post-traumatic and anxious-depressive symptoms.
The facts, maintains the Public Ministry, constitute a continuous crime of sexual abuse of a minor under 16 years of age, which is why it requests 12 years in prison for the man, the measure of supervised release for nine years, the prohibition of approaching the victim for another eight years and to compensate her in the amount of 10,000 euro.
