The Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification of Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, confirmed an outbreak of salmonellosis detected at the Aznalcázar Local Police Academy in Seville this week.
Specifically, as reported by Sanz, at the moment there are 67 people affected, although none have required hospitalisation. However, he has pointed out that some of those affected had been under observation, but have been discharged.
On the other hand, Sanz has announced that the health authorities attended the academy to try to detect the possible origin of the outbreak and has called for caution and responsibility, before knowing what the true origin was.
“It is being investigated , samples are going to be taken, work is already underway on a bacteriological study to see the cause of the salmonellosis,” the minister announced and stressed that, after the investigation, “if there were any type of responsibility,” “all corrective measures, both legal and health,” will be taken regarding the management of food products that could be behind the outbreak.
The minister also wanted to convey a message wishing “prompt improvement” to all those affected by this salmonellosis outbreak.
