The European retailer Pepco has rented a logistics warehouse in Cabanillas Park II, in Cabanillas del Campo (Guadalajara), owned by Merlin Properties. This operation represents a significant move for Pepco’s expansion in southern Europe, aligning with its growth plan in the Iberian Peninsula.
The warehouse, which Pepco will occupy in the third quarter of the year, is strategically located in the Henares Corridor, the main logistics axis of the peninsula, northwest of Madrid. It is located near important communication routes, including the A-2 and R-2, as well as the M-50 ring road, 48 km from the centre of Madrid and 35 km from the airport.
The 47,429 square metre platform meets high quality and sustainability standards, including an LED lighting system and photovoltaic panels for self-consumption, in addition to having LEED Gold certification.
This lease will allow Pepco to consolidate its operations in the region, significantly increasing its storage and operational capacity, and marking the opening of its first logistics centre in southern Europe.
