In this survey, at the last moment and after several days of excavation in which a huge amount of earth was moved (1,300 cubic metres in an area of 1,756 square metres), a common grave with, according to the information compiled by the association, four civilians murdered in October 1936.

The remains dislodged from the grave during the search for the bodies were collected by the Judicial Police of the Investigative Court number 1 of Almazán. This exhumation is financed by the Junta de Castilla y León.

The victims sought were Estanislao Gil Guerrero, teacher of Aguaviva de la Vega; Juan García Gutiérrez, councillor of Iruecha ; the son of Ángel Sanz Sanz, chair maker of Arcos de Jalón; and a doctor also from Arcos de Jalón. Despite the intense documentation and investigation work carried out since the discovery of the grave, the association has not yet managed to return the identity of these last two people, which is why it is appealing to the population in search of any information.

Likewise, and in its usual tone, the association has commented that any information about data related to victims of the Civil War and Francoism is always welcome. All information, no matter how minimal, counts and can help return the identity of a missing person and their remains to their families.

Likewise, and as in all events and exhumations arranged by the association in which summary secrecy is not decreed, the association states that this is a public event, so anyone interested in learning about the work of exhumation is welcome to approach the place of the murder, on the Alcubilla road (kilometre 172 of the old national highway N-111, crossing the highway through the tunnel).
