Royal Caribbean International launches Eurovision-themed cruise in Spain
The Eurovision Song Contest will star in the start of the Royal Caribbean International season in Spain this spring. Oasis of the Seas, one of the cruise line’s four Eurovision-themed cruises, will depart from Barcelona on May 5. Fans of the world’s largest live music event will be able to experience the festival’s grand final weekend in a whole new way, with special experiences across entertainment, dining and more.
Oasis of the Seas will join three other ships, Odyssey of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas, from Civitavecchia and Ravenna in Italy, and Anthem of the Seas, from Southampton. All of them will also offer Eurovision themed cruises.
Beyond the first thematic week dedicated to Eurovision, Oasis of the Seas will continue offering trips through the Western Mediterranean for seven nights until October, departing from Barcelona, visiting such desired destinations as Palma de Mallorca, Florence (La Spezia) in Italy and Provence (Marseille) in France.
The ship, which changed the concept of cruise travel at the time, is the perfect setting for a vacation for all types of families. From the ten-story-high Ultimate Abyss, original entertainment in air, ice, water and in the theatre; to a variety of restaurants, bars and lounges, including the cruise line’s first barbecue restaurant, Portside BBQ.
Another novelty this year is Voyager of the Seas which, departing from Barcelona on August 5, September 2 and 30, will offer travellers an itinerary through Valencia, Nice (Villefranche), Ajaccio in Corsica, Florence/Pisa (La Spezia), Santa Margherita, and Rome (Civitavecchia).
Explorer of the Seas will be another of the protagonists of the year, with a departure on May 11, on an itinerary that will take you to visit Naples, Sicily, Corfu, Montenegro, Croatia and Ravenna. In addition, the cruise will depart from Barcelona on November 2 to embark on a transatlantic cruise that will take you to Miami on November 14 after visiting Valencia, Malaga and Punta Delgada in the Azores Islands.
And in July, the Serenade of the Seas will arrive in Barcelona, the Ultimate World Cruise that allows you to explore several continents as part of its 274-night world tour. The Ultimate Europe and Beyond itinerary begins in Barcelona and offers important cultural destinations in Spain, Ireland and France.
Departing from Barcelona, travellers will visit 40 destinations over 63 nights during this final leg of the Ultimate World Cruise. An immersive cultural experience that starts in the Mediterranean and heads north. In addition to visiting Barcelona, enjoying a pleasant lunch in a Parisian bistro or a dinner with mint tea and tagine in Morocco, travellers will be able to relax on their unforgettable trip in the geothermal waters of Iceland’s Blue Lagoon before visiting New York, on the way back to Miami.
