Police Investigating Stairway Driver
A video posted on social media showed how a driver took their car on an unusual route, driving down the stairs of the Plaza del Quarters de Valls, in Tarragona.
The images were recorded during the night of Saturday 16 March, which is now being investigated by the Local Police.
The main hypothesis is that the event could have been caused by a GPS calculation error and poor practice by the vehicle driver.
After going down the stairs, the car changed direction and drove away as if nothing had happened, although the recorded video shows how it damaged the bottom of the car.
It should be noted that GPS information is advisory and does not take away the responsibility of the driver to monitor and act on the real-life conditions, from monitoring road signs and restrictions, for example, to ensuring that the route is both suitable and safe.
