The Guardia Civil, within the framework of operation ‘Skianet’, has arrested an 18-year-old man who distributed paedophile material through a messaging group with more than 1,800 members for ten alleged crimes of creation and distribution of child pornography, against moral integrity and sexual freedom.
Following complaints filed last September, investigators were able to verify that the group was private and only accessible by invitation.
However, the agents managed to access it and carry out an exhaustive study where they were able to verify that more than 1,600 multimedia files had been shared, all of them containing pornographic content. At least 200 files even considered child pornography.
The investigation revealed that at least 30 images had been modified using artificial intelligence so that the women who appeared in them, between the ages of 11 and 21, were shown naked. The detainee, the only administrator of the group, used images that he stole from the social media profiles of five of his high school classmates and several influencers.
After technical analysis of the group’s multimedia content, the agents verified that the metadata of the files corresponded to the telephone terminal used by the alleged author.
To identify the victims, the investigative group used OSINT techniques, identifying a total of 13 victims, of which nine were minors. Among those identified are well-known content creators on social networks, with more than two million followers.
The proceedings have been delivered to the Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 1 of Onteniente (Valencia).
