The Guardia Civil has arrested six people belonging to a criminal organisation that had attacked the home of a couple to rob them in the town of San Antonio de Benagéver, in Valencia.
One of the arrested people had befriended the victims and subsequently provided information to the rest of the organisation to commit the robbery.
After two hooded men suddenly burst into the house with simulated weapons, they tied the couple up with zip ties and attacked them to get them to tell them where they kept the money. The man managed to escape and confronted the assailants, who attacked him with considerable violence.
The woman was able to free herself from the restraints and defended herself against them, causing the perpetrators to leave the home. The detainees only managed to steal €400.
As a result of the investigation, it was found that the friend who had been invited to the home and who had come with her youngest daughter was actually a “hook.” Her task was to befriend the couple to facilitate the subsequent assault and ensure that there would be money in the home. During the assault on the home, this person at all times prevented the residents from being able to defend themselves.
As a result of the investigations, the agents proceeded to carry out four searches in different homes in Valencia and Toledo, where a total of six people were arrested and various criminal effects were seized, in addition to three simulated weapons. These are 4 men and 2 women, between 19 and 42 years of age.
The proceedings have been delivered to the Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 4 of Paterna (Valencia).
