The MP for Compromís, Paula Espinosa, has pointed out that “we are monitoring with concern the fuel oil spill on the Saler and L’arbre del Gos beaches in Valencia”.
Through a series of parliamentary initiatives, Compromís has asked the Ministry of the Environment to provide the appropriate explanations, as well as the launch of a rigorous investigation to determine what has happened.
For Espinosa “regardless of when and how the origin of the spill is determined, there is an underlying problem, and that is that right in front of the Albufera there are boats permanently anchored, which are a threat to this Natural Park”.
“A danger that will increase taking into account that both the Government of the Generalitat and the Government of Spain want to expand the Port of Valencia, an infrastructure that would cause more situations like this”.
From Compromís, the Minister for the Environment, Infrastructure and Territory is requested to appear in the Courts to explain how he plans to solve the situation and what measures he plans to take so that this does not happen again.
