The Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs successfully marketed 228 assets of industrial machinery and vehicles through an electronic public auction.
Specifically, 2,595,797 euros have been obtained from the sale of assets.
This is an auction carried out by the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs, of the Ministry of Health, which successfully marketed 228 assets of industrial machinery and vehicles from goods seized from drug trafficking.
These assets of industrial and public works machinery, vehicles and other means of transport came from a single criminal organisation and various convicts (various sentences, but all related to each other).
The Ministry of Health, through the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs (DGPNSD), manages the Fund for Assets Confiscated for Illicit Drug Trafficking and Other Related Offences.
This Fund, regulated by Law 17/2003 of May 29, is made up of the assets, effects and instruments confiscated by final judgment in drug trafficking proceedings and other related crimes. In this way, the assets that reach the Confiscated Assets Fund are sold and liquidated through public auction.
The money raised by the Confiscated Assets Fund is used to reverse the damage caused to society by drug addiction and drug trafficking. In this way, programs are financed to prevent drug addiction, assist drug addicts, and integrate them into society and the workplace.
In recent years, approximately 70% of these revenues have been devoted to such demand reduction programmes and 30% to supply reduction (crime prosecution and police and customs actions).
In 2023, €28 million was raised by the Confiscated Property Fund.
