The King will hold his usual summer meeting at the Marivent Palace with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, who will travel to Palma after the last meeting of the Council of Ministers before the summer break.
This meeting will be held in Palma again, as is traditional, after taking place in Madrid last year due to the Government being in office following the general elections of 23 July.
Felipe VI will receive the head of the Executive at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, after Sánchez presides in the morning at the Moncloa Palace the last meeting of the Council of Ministers before a break of several weeks during the summer.
Sánchez is expected to call his ministers together again on August 27 to begin the new political year.
If the forecast is maintained, before travelling to Palma, the President of the Government will have to testify on Tuesday as a witness before Judge Juan Carlos Peinado in the investigation into his wife, Begoña Gómez, for alleged influence peddling and business corruption.
The meeting between the King and Sánchez is part of the Head of State’s agenda in Palma, which began with a series of meetings with Balearic authorities. He received the president of the community, Marga Prohens; the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez; and the presidents of the Consell de Mallorca and the Parliament, Llorenç Galmés and Gabriel Le Senne, respectively.
