On Thursday this week, the Councillor for Coast, Beaches and international Residents, Martina Scheurer, met with administrators, who manage most of the communities of Orihuela Costa.
The objective of this meeting was not only to establish contact with the administrators, but to project a future direct collaboration to improve care and service to the citizen by the different areas of the town hall.
In the meeting, it was discussed how to channel complaints and suggestions from citizens through administrators to avoid multiple applications dealing with the same issues generating paperwork that can be avoided. Especially when dealing with daily reports such as street maintenance, parks and gardens or lighting. To do this, a direct email address has been provided within the maintenance department to offer prompt attention and resolution. Also, particular attention will be given to urban problems that up today still affects many areas of Orihuela Costa, providing information and offering individual meetings with the intention to help solve the problems.
During the meeting, it became clear that a major concern of all administrators is, the impression of sloppiness that the municipal area shows in many parts of the coastal zone. All stated that, in recent years, to have had meetings with various councillors but never had the expected results. In particular, they criticized the fact that they have never replied on numerous written requests and, thus, the citizens feel very badly treated. Martina Scheurer has assured that her council does reply on all written applications and that answers and citations are given in the shortest possible time to try to solve problems without long delays.
