Self Employment Increasing

According to data released on Tuesday, the number of self-employed workers in the province of Alicante grew by 486 people in June.

Showing a similar trend to contracted workers, the service sector saw the biggest growth, with 159 people registering as working for themselves. The motor trade was also a key player in June with 153 people finding self-employed work, and there were 60 people who are working for themselves in the construction industry.

However, for the growth in the service and motor trade, June saw self employed workers in education suffer a significant drop thanks to the school holidays, with 92 education workers no longer on a self-employed status.
