Two Guardia Civil traffic officers were injured when the driver of a speeding car turned around and rammed their unmarked radar car which had just clocked him driving at 31 kilometres per hour above the speed limit.
The incident occurred in the town of Gondomar in Pontevedra when the unmarked radar car recorded a Hyundai 4 wheel drive vehicle travelling at 81 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone.
The speeding motorist stopped, turned his vehicle around and repeatedly rammed the police car. The offender was arrested and has since been released, now facing more than a fine for speeding, with three extra offences added to the charge sheet, an assault against a law enforcement officer, criminal damage and a crime against road safety.
