New Speed Reductions Introduced on CV-865

Seventy-kilometre-an-hour speed limits have been introduced in the area of all crossings on the CV-865 Santa Pola to Elche road. The previous limit was set at 90 kilometres an hour, and the new limit has been introduced recently on a black spot route that is especially congested during the summer tourist season.

Twenty-four companies have submitted bids for a 380,000-euro tender to redesign the eight-kilometre stretch of road, which would eventually see it upgraded to a dual carriageway.
