Torrevieja Readies Paella and T-shirt Competitions

Torrevieja’s councillor for fiestas, Domingo Perez, has launched a series of contests, including one for paella and another for t-shirt designs.

Participants will have to submit their application in the PROP office, and only the first 80 entries will be allowed to participate in the contest, the rest will be able to share their works of paella art at the fairgrounds and markets at the Parque Antonio Soria, but will not be eligible to enter the contest.

The councillor explained that registration will open on November 6, and that participation is expected to be huge, as last year there were 185 registered, remembering that this year there are only 80 places, there could be more than double the participants.

If paella isn’t your thing, but you fancy entering the t-shirt competition, then you could participate with, preferably, a witty or even shocking slogan.

The shirts must contain some allegory or allusion to Torrevieja, such as the city’s coat of arms, city monument, etc. The rest of the design will be up to you.

The competition is open to all, including previously registered groups, and you can enter by email to, or by phone on 670 501 100, detailing the group’s name and contact information.

You still have some time to work on your ideas, as the registration period for this from November 20 to 27, so get thinking and designing.
