Gruesome Discovery in Wrong-Way Car

The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a Swiss man who was driving in the opposite direction and with a rotten corpse in the passenger seat.

According to the Catalan police, the events occurred this afternoon on a section of the AP-7 motorway near the Spanish-French border.

When the driver detected the police presence, he ignored the instructions of the officers to stop. The fugitive driver then took exit 5 of the motorway and continued on the GI-634 road where finally, at kilometre 4.3 as he passed through the town of Jafre, he suffered an accident, according to the press release.

When the agents have made the checks inside the vehicle they have located, in the passenger seat, the lifeless body of an elderly man in a state of advanced decomposition.

According to the first assessment made by the agents, no clear signs of criminality have been observed on the body. However, an investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances of the events.
