The autonomous communities have notified the Ministry of Health that, until May 13, they have carried out a total of 42,089,670 diagnostic tests. Of these, 31,361,349 are PCR and 10,728,321 are antigen tests.
In the last week, from May 7 to 13, the autonomous communities have carried out a total of 518,783 PCR, an average of 74,111 PCR per day.
In addition, from May 7 to 13, the autonomous communities have carried out a total of 261,009 antigen tests (37,287 on average per day). Added to the PCR performed, they represent a total of 779,792 diagnostic tests performed in this period, 111,398 per day. Thus, the number of diagnostic tests performed increased by 2%, with a rate of 893.62 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Progressively, new techniques are being developed for the diagnosis of SARS-Cov2 infection, such as the rapid antigen tests that the Health Departments are beginning to introduce in the management of the pandemic.
