National Police detain a person for the possession of more than a thousand files with child pornography on the Internet

National Police agents have arrested a 36-year-old man in Algeciras (Cádiz) as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual abuse, corruption of minors, distribution and possession of child pornography. The detainee had in his possession more than 1,400 files of child pornography that he had uploaded on the Internet for virtual storage and distribution. The operation has been coordinated by the Algeciras Special Prosecutor for Technological Crimes.

The investigation began in July 2021 when the investigators, thanks to international cooperation with the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of the United States, learned of some IP addresses from which abundant material of pedophile content. Once the identity of the alleged perpetrator had been verified, authorization for entry and registration was requested from the Court of Instruction number 5 of Algeciras.

The agents carried out the entry and search of the residence of the investigated person where they proceeded to arrest him and intervened numerous computer material, in addition to more than 1,400 files of child pornographic material. In the analysis of the intervened devices, the agents discovered that, in addition to massive content of child pornography, there were videos surreptitiously recorded at his home by him, in which pornographic content of minors appears.

Likewise, the agents detected another 54 videos in which, using a spy camera, the detainee recorded intimate parts of minors without them being aware of it. The investigators found out that the detainee worked as a private teacher and teacher in a center in the town of Cadiz where he taught minors, so they carried out another search at the premises in case it could be related to the facts that are attributed to him.

After the police proceedings were carried out, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court on duty in Algeciras.
