Agents of the National Police have seized about 300,000 COVID-19 antigen tests in several warehouses of an industrial estate in the Madrid town of Fuenlabrada. In less than 24 hours, the researchers detected and blocked the distribution of the merchandise, since it could be an irregular product for not complying with the established sanitary measures.

The investigation began last Tuesday when the agents learned that COVID-19 antigen tests that did not comply with the specific protocols or that had not passed the official tests could be being distributed. Given the seriousness of the events, due to the impact it could have on the safety and health of consumers, the researchers managed in just 24 hours to locate said merchandise in a well-known industrial estate in the municipality of Fuenlabrada.
One million tests analysed
Yesterday the agents carried out a police device in order to inspect these products corresponding to four companies located in five warehouses. In total, around a million tests were analysed, of which about 300,000 were intervened due to deficiencies in the documentary procedures or because they lacked authorisation for their distribution, so they could not be considered suitable for use.
Due to these facts, a sanctioning administrative file was opened, although numerous documentation is pending analysis in case they could have committed a criminal action.
